I Am Lucky....But I Am Also Tired...

Things were a bit 'comical' in our house the other night (actually morning around 1:30 am) while Rich was traveling. Will decided he just wasn't tired that night and was still going strong after just a couple of short cat naps throughout the night. Allie woke up crying which woke up Emmie and Katie. Once the girls were sleeping again, Will was still awake. I had my camera nearby (as I always do) and decided I should videotape him on the monitor I have next to my bed.

Here is the footage...

Around 2:00 I decided I needed to go to bed so I put Will in bed with me.

And....this is what happens when I bring my snuggle bug into bed with me...

About a minute later...

And then...sound asleep for the remainder of the night. Who wouldn't want a snuggle bug like this one? This cuddly guy is the reason I'm awake now doing this entry....he is sleeping in my arms....I am lucky.

Giddy Up!

We went to a FUN birthday party this past weekend at a friends' house in our neighborhood. This party included pony rides on the neighborhood trail! Here are some pics and video from the fun. (Too bad my camera battery lost charge and I missed a pic of Will on the pony...however, we did get a short video clip of him just in time).

Kicks and Cartwheels and Happy Sweet Smiles

That's what Blue Angels are made of....

Katie has now played 3 games on her Blue Angels team. I missed her first game because it was a very early morning game so I stayed home to let the others sleep in while Daddy took Katie. She came home with a very happy report of getting two goals. We all went to her game yesterday during which I was able to once again observe the fun and 'wonderful-ness' of Kindergarten soccer.

There were 2 different times when the girls were discussing cartwheels and actually doing them on the field in the middle of the game. Too cute! It is amazing to see the difference between the Kindergarten and 3rd grade games....everything is smaller....the girls, the soccer ball, the fields, the goals. Everyone cheers for everyone....even the other team. Parents and coaches applaud both teams. I don't even think the girls would care if they scored a goal for the other team. Everything is just happy, happy.

Warming up for the game...

On the field...

Cartwheel time...Katie and 2 friends 'prepping' for cartwheels!

With the ball...

Katie has this really cute 'hopping/bouncing' kind of run that
I caught on video.

Today, we had our first experience 'dividing and conquering' the soccer schedule. Emmie and Katie had games at the exact same time. Coach Daddy and Emmie went to her game while I took Allie and Will to Katie's game. Here is a pic of our 2 soccer girls, both #9, before the games.

Also, a little video of some fancy footwork on the sidelines....by Miss Allie...

WILD

Remember this POST? I didn't think anything could be any cuter than these girls in their 'Sugar 'n'Spice' uniforms! Well, here are some pics from Emmie's 'Fall Ball' softball team...Blue Valley Wild!

Now, I'm sure...nothing can be any cuter than these girls in their 'WILD' uniforms!! The socks are the cutest things ever!

Here are some pics from a couple of games this season. She sure is a busy 8-year-old with school, softball, soccer, Religious Ed and Girl Scouts!

Flight 001

This past weekend we celebrated Will's 1st birthday with a party at our house. Thanks to Grandma and Grandpa who were able to make it and to our friends who always make the distance to 'home' seem a little less. Thanks for helping us celebrate!

I'm a little late with this post as I was quite disappointed with the lack of pictures I have from the big day. I love photographs and telling stories through photographs. After all, you only have a 1st birthday party once. I am so grateful that Grandma and Grandpa were able to provide me with the pictures that I do have! Thanks also to a couple of friends who captured some video on my camera!

What can I say about his party? It started around 5 and we had 20 adults and 21 kids. Will was his usual happy self and sure did LOVE his birthday cake with chocolate icing!!! What I realized is that I didn't get to spend much quality time with him during the actual party. I took the next day to snuggle with him for a nap on the couch for a few hours and get some extra quality play time. I'm thinking I might even sneak in another birthday cupcake with a candle at dinner tomorrow or Friday. :) Is it possible to have 'post-first-birthday blues'? I'm so happy but at the same time it feels like he has gotten so old too quickly. Did I mention he is currently sleeping in his bed for the first time tonight? More to come later...
