Last Day of School

Katie's last day was yesterday and Emmie's last day was today.  I simply can't believe that Katie will be in 1st grade next year and I really can't believe Emmie will be in 4th grade.  The first picture is from the first day of school.  They have changed so much throughout the year.  Katie wanted to wear the same outfit from the first day of school....right down to the necklace she had on that day!  You can tell how much she has grown just by how the shirt fits now.  It has been a great year and we had fun kicking off the summer today at the pool!

Little Model

One of the reasons I have our personal blog separate from my photography blog is so that I can post things I'm excited about like this...
and you won't judge me, right?  :)

http://www.etsy.com/listing/47978893/12-24-months-towniebrown-navy-baby-blue

Random list....

Things that cost a lot this week and aren't all that exciting...

1.  calibrating your monitor ($ equivalent to cute new outfit including shoes)
2.  getting house painted ($ equivalent to nice family vacationn)

Not complaining...just feeling like a grown-up or something.

Feel free to add to the list...

How does that song go?

Every girl can be a princess?  Well, yes, except....the 2 girls in the back middle.  They were more interested in being silly.  Ha!  Yes, that is Emmie with the hat and long curly hair.

Last Saturday was Allie's birthday party.  Allie wanted to have a princess party at our house.  We did princess makeovers, a fashion show, had a tea party and did some princess dancing (which soon turned to Ring Around The Rosey and Duck Duck Goose).

Here are 2 pics of Princess Allie during the fashion show...

And Princess Katie during the fashion show....pay no attention to the rookie photographer's flash showing in the mirror.

And...here they are again.  They had me introduce them as 'Princesses....different girls'.

The birthday girl had a wonderful time at her party!  However, she didn't really eat the scrumptious and beautiful strawberry cream cupcakes I ordered from a nearby bakery.  They just seemed perfect for a tea party.  I heard them say something about too much frosting...never heard of such a thing.  I think I'm going to need to make her some regular box mix funfetti cupcakes this week.

Finally..... a video from the dance party!!  Can you hear all of the sweet giggles?

Fieldtrip with Katie

Last Friday Allie, Will and I were able to join Katie and her class on a fieldtrip.  I absolutely love to go on fieldtrips.  It is so nice when siblings are allowed because then I get to go.  Here are some pictures from the fun.  Katie and Allie did a little bottle feeding and then Katie went for a pony ride.  The last picture is of Katie with 2 of her very best girlfriends.  :)

Senorita Allie

Allie had a wonderful birthday.  She wore her birthday shirt and tutu to dance class in the morning.  We went out to Noodles & Co with friends for lunch.  In the afternoon, she watched her new Barbie movie.  For dinner, we went to Mi Ranchito and then she came home and opened presents.  We let her stay up late playing her new Wii game Carnival.  Here are a couple of pictures of her while they were singing Happy Birthday to her at the restaurant.  She seemed to LOVE it but also hide below the sombrero a bit with a shy little smile.  :)

Only 4 more months...

of being 1.  Yesterday Will turned 20 months.  That is way too close to 2 for me.  I love this picture because he loves balls (3rd in line to cars and trains) and he was trying to share the ball with me.  He is such a sweet boy.

Also, notice his banged up lips from falling the other day at Katie's soccer game while he was being 'all boy'.

Birthday Week!

Allie is turning 4 on Wednesday!  Tomorrow starts the festivities as she is celebrating at school.  She keeps telling people that tomorrow is her FAKE birthday and then says, "Isn't that funny?"  Wednesday we will probably go out to lunch (any takers?) and then also out to dinner with Daddy.  She has chosen Noodles & Co. of course.  Thursday I'm sure she will be wearing her birthday outfit to school again.  Then, Saturday is her princess party.  The 'big girls' are going to be giving the 'little girls' princess makeovers with dresses, hair, make-up and nails.  Then, we're going to have a fashion show, a tea party and then dance, dance, dance!  (Side note:  A few good friends will be proud of me for this.  Allie wanted a princess party....a real, live commercial princess party.  I didn't try to put any kind of spin on it at all to make it more unique.  I just sent out an evite (gasp), bought the Disney party supplies she wanted (yikes), etc etc.  I must admit...it feels great and I'm not stressed and she's ecstatic!  We're going to have FUN!  I'm still making the cake though.  ;)

Foreshadowing

You know it will be here in the blink of an eye.  Today we picked up a tub of dress-up clothes from a good friend in preparation for Allie's princess make over b-day party this Saturday.  The girls played with all of the clothes for almost 3 hours!  Katie, of course, chose the wedding dress first!

Topsy Turvy

Katie won a little top at school today.  I received my new lens in the mail.  What a happy coincidence!  :)

Please Vote :)

Ok, I know I'm a little more excited than I should be about this but...one of my photographs was chosen for a contest on a blog I follow.  I'm pretty sure it was chosen for the expression of the baby because I know it's not technically correct.  Ok, the prize is a cute newborn prop but it is more about getting my name out there.  Thanks for taking the time to click through and vote for my photo.  It is #2 with the Cookie Clicks logo.  http://www.allthingsbaby.biz/
Thanks!
